The Griffin Rayne Art Blog was born from conversations
we had with our gallery clients, and it is predominantly for them that we write.
That said, we’ve never minded throwing our point of view into the public domain
when it comes to works of art, exhibitions and artists. So whilst we’re
directing this to those we know, anyone can read, enjoy and comment (at length
if necessary!) on what we have to say...
Griffin Rayne is an offshoot of Griffin Rayne
Gallery, which began bringing 20th Century and Contemporary artworks
to the public in 2010. The gallery is based on four simple and utterly unbreakable
rules:
1. Traditional principles in a
contemporary world (While this is a reference to the way we do business, it is also
central to our feelings about art. We continually combine well-known artists
with up and coming ones – traditional and contemporary. Some may say this in
itself is untraditional, all we say is that all traditions have to begin
somewhere…)
2. Names without quality are just
words (Quality is paramount, even great painters still have off days; we
never get star struck and will only ever provide the best works for our
customers)
3. Art is a love which doesn’t get
affected by gravity or the FTSE (buy pieces which you truly like as
they will never age, and will always be creations of beauty; invest in a long
game and never be disappointed)
4. Great art doesn’t always come with
a degree (We believe that great artwork comes from talent; it cannot always be
taught. So while you will always find accredited artists with enviable
provenance here, keep an eye out for those whom we champion just because they
are fantastic
